Full Respect and No Repuation?
When I first began my role as queen I expected no respect. None. Null. Although as I go on ruling, I'm noticing that because my father was a great man and I was a respectable daughter, I have no reputation, and all the respect I need. Most women from Egypt, like Queen Hatshepsut, had to dress like men and act as though they were a man to gain respect. Which is a H U G E relief, because I expected so. Looks like I'm going to have an easy queen-ship. :)
Moving to the Inside of Meroe.
I am now Queen Shanakdakheto. Which means I'm moving, to the inside of the capital. I have to leave my home, join the house of rulers and stand for my country. Thanks Dad and husband. I move tomorrow, bringing almost none of my beloigings because they're too frivolous to wear as a ruler. Great. All new clothes and everything. Blech.
Am I becoming Queen?!
Today someone died. It's either my husband or my father, sadly no one knows. I will have to rule. Me, by myself. This is un-heard of! I must rule alone, not co-ruling, but I will have full Queen-ship!!! Can you say
S C A R Y ?!?! What man wants to be ruled by a woman? I know my country is not the same as others, we do respect women as we do men although in Kush we have never had a female ruler! I hope I'll do alright!

Some Backstory...
Before married into royalty, my father was a true Kushite man. True to his country, true to his family, and true to his religion. Throughout life we, my father and I, struggled. We lived on the outskirts of Meroe, it was a rich town, where our capital had been placed. The trade routes went directly through Meroe'', which made our copuntry stronger than others.
